Oooohhh, my poor stomach! I’ve been eating to many rich foods or I’m dealing with a stomach bug, or my sinuses have been draining, etc. so I’m going to eat things like jello and drink clear sodas until I feel better.
GAH!!! Let’s not make the problem worse by piling on gobs of sugar friends. Extra refined sugar is the LAST thing you want when your body is trying to recover from something because it inhibits your immune system. Instead be sure to drink plenty of water, especially if you’re having trouble keeping things down. Dehydration can be a concern. Once water will stay in your system then think of adding gentle foods like bananas, apple sauce (no sugar added), rice, and toast. Keep foods plain and bland until your gut is fully recovered. Also, beware of zero sugar options, as the artificial sweeteners used are even worse for your system than refined sugar is. Bone broth is also an excellent choice as the collagen in it can help coat and calm the gut. Support your digestive system with essential oils like DiGize and Peppermint, which can be applied topically to help things recover their balance.
