Health Tip – Potassium
It is a commonly held belief that bananas are a great nutritional source of potassium. But is that really true?
A quick internet search turned up that while bananas do contain potassium, there are many foods that contain potassium in greater quantities.
Such as:
Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Spinach
Acorn Squash
Swiss Chard
Lima Beans
Kiwi
just to name a few! If potassium is something you need more of consider changing your salt in addition to incorporating more potassium rich foods into your diet. Wait?! Did you just say SALT? Yup. Salt. Instead of using mineral deficient, plain table salt consider switching to using pink Himalayan salt instead. Colored salts contain more trace minerals that the body needs and pink Himalayan salt contains more potassium.
